At the University of Florida, a 2026 pilot program is exploring virtual reality (VR) simulations to prepare autistic adults for semiconductor manufacturing roles. The initiative focuses on hands-on training for technical positions where attention to detail and systematic thinking—common strengths among autistic individuals—are highly valued.
